How to access the offer
As an additional benefit of becoming a Mettle customer, you'll be able to switch to a free FreeAgent account after opening a Mettle bank account, whether you're new to FreeAgent or already a customer with us.
Just follow the four simple steps to get set up:
- 1Download the Mettle mobile app from either the iOS App Store or Google Play Store.
- 2Go through the Mettle account application process. It should only take a few minutes to apply.
- 3Pick the FreeAgent connections option from within the Mettle app. Select 'Get FreeAgent for free'.
- 4You're now ready to use your free FreeAgent account, connected to your Mettle account.
To be eligible for a free FreeAgent account you need to make at least one transaction a month from your Mettle account. If you don’t make one transaction a month or close your Mettle account, a FreeAgent subscription will be charged while you continue to use the software. Optional add-ons may be chargeable.
- 1Download the Mettle mobile app from either the iOS App Store or Google Play Store.
- 2Go through the Mettle account application process. It should only take a few minutes to apply.
- 3Ignore the invitation to set up a FreeAgent account when you're opening the Mettle account, and instead sign up for a FreeAgent account on the FreeAgent website.
- 4When setting up your FreeAgent account, select ‘UK Unincorporated Landlord’ as the Business Type, enter your Mettle account number and sort code and you’ll be switched to a free subscription.
To be eligible for a free FreeAgent account you need to make at least one transaction a month from your Mettle account. If you don’t make one transaction a month or close your Mettle account, a FreeAgent subscription will be charged while you continue to use the software. Optional add-ons may be chargeable.
- 1Download the Mettle mobile app from either the iOS App Store or Google Play Store
- 2Go through the Mettle account application process. It should only take a few minutes to apply.
- 3Once your Mettle account is open, set up a bank feed to connect your FreeAgent account to your Mettle account
- 4Look out for a Radar alert in your account and follow the instructions to switch to a free account.

If you don’t make one transaction a month or close your Mettle account, a FreeAgent subscription will be charged while you continue to use the software. Optional add-ons may be chargeable.

- 3Ignore the invitation to set up a FreeAgent account when you're opening the Mettle account, as your accountant or bookkeeper will do this for you.
- 4Let your accountant or bookkeeper know your account number and sort code once your Mettle account is open and they'll take care of setting up your free FreeAgent account.
