New ways to automate, scale and take control of MTD for Income Tax

Automate quarterly compliance

FreeAgent can now prepare and submit MTD quarterly updates to HMRC automatically.

These automations help to create a more consistent MTD workflow, making it easier for practices to scale their support while maintaining accuracy and control.

Clients who manage their own quarterly updates can also use this feature to ‘set and forget’ and keep their MTD compliance tasks on track.

Send client approval requests automatically 

We’ve drastically reduced the admin associated with the client approval process. Accountants and bookkeepers can now send quarterly updates to clients for approval automatically - and in bulk. You can also set specific tax permissions for individual clients and choose which taxes and reports to display and whether to show or hide the tax amounts due, on their Tax Timeline. 

So no matter how many quarterly updates you prepare, you can set FreeAgent to issue all your client approval requests on time without having to send a single manual email.

File quarterly updates in bulk 

Our Practice Partners can now file quarterly updates for multiple clients in one go, rather than repeating the same steps for each individual client. 

It’s a more efficient way to work, helping you reduce manual effort, stay consistent and keep on top of deadlines - especially during busy periods.  

Mark multiple submissions as filed in bulk 

You can also mark multiple submissions as filed in a single action, replacing another time-consuming client-by-client task. 

This functionality is available across all three submission types: 

• Quarterly updates
• End-of-year updates
• The final declaration
