GoCardless users - we have exciting news! We’ve fine-tuned how and when you can take Direct Debit payments with GoCardless.
But first, a quick recap. If you regularly send an invoice to the same customer, for the same value, you can already streamline the payment process by setting up recurring invoices. And, through our integration with GoCardless, your customers can easily set up a Direct Debit mandate, allowing you to collect payments from them.
Today, with the help of automation, we’ve taken that a step further to give you more power over when those Direct Debits are collected. Now (drum roll, please…), you can send a recurring invoice to your customer and choose to:
- automatically collect the Direct Debit on the invoice date
- automatically collect the Direct Debit on the payment due date
- manually trigger the Direct Debit process
So what does this mean for you? By setting up recurring invoices for your repeat customers with GoCardless Direct Debit mandates, you can now easily select a payment collection process that works best for you.
If you’d like to fully automate the process, select the automatic email feature on a customer’s recurring invoice profile. They will automatically be sent an invoice and the Direct Debit will be collected on either the invoice date or payment date (depending on which date you selected on the recurring invoice profile). That’s one more thing off your to-do list each month, tick!
